From MeMi Collective to Genskee Apparel
Genskee Apparel began its journey in 2017 as MeMi Collective. As we’ve grown, so have our values and story—evolving into something even better (we hope!). It felt like the perfect time for a fresh name and look that reflects who we are today. But rest assured, we’re still bringing you the same Canadian-made, sustainable clothing you’ve loved all these years. Thank you for being a part of this journey!
Our full brand story, coming soon!
Breaking down gender norms!
At Genskee Apparel, we are breaking down traditional gender norms. We achieve this by crafting slow fashion garments in Canada that allow everyone to feel at home in their bodies—no matter how they identify.
Our Values
Inclusivity
We embrace diversity in all its forms, celebrating individuality & ensuring our clothing is accessible to people of all genders, backgrounds & body types.
Sustainability
We are committed to minimizing our environmental footprint by using eco-friendly materials & ethical business practices, helping our customers do the same.
Timeless Design
Our designs are crafted for longevity, transcending trends & seasons, promoting a sustainable approach to fashion that encourages mindful consumption.
Empowerment
We empower individuals to express themselves confidently through clothing that offers comfort, individuality & a sense of “home,” free from traditional gender norms.
Social Responsibility
We take social responsibility seriously, supporting fair labor practices, advocating for positive change in the fashion industry & contributing to causes that uplift communities.
Where does the name Genskee come from?
Inspired by the English name "Jenski," meaning "to come home," Genskee is more than just clothing. It's a philosophy. We believe that everyone deserves to feel comfortable and confident in their own skin. Our designs are gender-inclusive and designed to help you feel at home in your body.
Indigenous Land Acknowledgment
We respectfully acknowledge & honor the traditional territories of the Snuneymuxw, Snaw-naw-as, & Stz’uminus peoples, whose ancestral lands we live, work & gather on.
We recognize & deeply appreciate the enduring connection Indigenous peoples have to this land & offer our gratitude for their stewardship through the generations.
